Do I dream about this place? Yes, yes I do. Those biscuits. Ugh. I am so sad they took their croque monseiur off the menu. SO SO SAD, bring it back!! Was here a week ago for dinner and ordered the watermelon pork belly—drooling! It is a must try. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts (needed more goat cheese but still so good). So so so good. All of it. I also love their grilled chicken salad for lunch. Update: went for brunch on Saturday. Ordered their French toast. Delicious! Same compote sauce for the biscuits but add syrup. I’d probably ask for a side of butter next time. Otherwise, absolutely delicious. 10/10.
Compliments to the Chef!!!!! Chef Jason Clark is a 5-star chef with a 10-star personality! Since my wife loves cooking and cooking shows, I thought it would be nice to ask our waiter if the chef would speak with her. Chef Jason was kind, generous, professional, and very personable. He spent a good 10 minutes with us talking about the menu, doting on his staff, and sharing the history behind the restaurant's origin. Everything we ordered was 5-star quality. I HIGHLY recommend the duck; it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and served with a delicious polenta sauce. The homemade desserts were excellent as well. I especially recommend the Matcha Crème Brûlée—if it's still available! The staff was also top-notch. We requested a booth when making our reservation through the OpenTable app, and we were given the best corner booth in the restaurant. My only criticism would be the restaurant's ambiance. It is not on par with the quality of the food. The Advenire should consider redesigning the restaurant to better match the quality of Chef Jason's menu. Also, our table was still wet from being cleaned before we were seated, so I had to wipe it dry myself. I'll conclude with this famous movie quote: "I'll be back!"
The arrachera sauce on the carrots was my personal mouth watering favorite. The restaurant provided a stunning ambience. Cherry on top, the owner Jason took the time, after getting wind of our intrigue of the specific sauces, to come to our table personally to discuss and share the kitchen’s secret. And he most certainly didn’t stop there. He Invited us to try an off the menu item his dessert chef was currently working on. We soon discovered they are working towards creating a gluten free menu for those that would want or need such careful preparation of food!
The food was great, our service was pleasant as well. We got the NY Strip and it was juicy and delicious but tender. Loved the atmosphere and establishment. Will definitely be back soon!
Wood Ash Rye in St. George didn’t just serve dinner… oh no, it lit the romantic pilot light for our 15th Valentine’s Day together, and let’s just say the night escalated faster than their wood fired ovens. From the first bite I knew this place was about to become my culinary wingman, sliding in smoother than a Barry White playlist. The cocktails were flirting with us, the steak was dressed better than I was, and the desserts were basically whispering, “cancel your evening plans after dinner, baby!” The lighting hit that magical level where my wife looked like a movie star and I looked like I could actually cook at home (I cannot). Every dish came out so hot it felt like the chef was personally invested in my marriage. By the time we finished, we weren’t saying “hubba hubba” we were legally required to say it! Even the service had that knowing smile like, “yeah… you two aren’t going straight to sleep tonight.” Wood Ash Rye didn’t just exceed expectations, it secured the post-dinner victory lap for me. Fifteen Valentine’s dinners in and this place still managed to be the best third wheel we’ve ever had. 10/10 would let this restaurant seduce my wife for me again. 😏🔥
We celebrated my wife's birthday at W.A.R., and it was an excellent experience. The space is extremely warm and welcoming, the customer service is too notch, and the food was very good. We tried the biscuits, brussel sprouts, nigiri, and the elk gnocchi. It was very eclectic but outstanding. The mint swiss roll dessert was phenomenal.
Wow. The filet mignon was so tender. It didn’t need anything, but I ordered a hot/spicy horseradish. The chef not only cooked my steak perfectly, the horseradish with hot oil/sauce (mystery of what they did) was our if they’d world! The wait staff was amazing. Best meal (although $$) was worth it!
At the end of a very long and exhausting day, we found ourselves at the door of this place just 22 minutes before closing. We thought we’d end up going back to the hotel hungry and disappointed—but we were wrong. We were warmly welcomed, seated right away, and enjoyed a truly delicious meal. The dessert with tea was excellent and a perfect way to finish the evening. Everything—from the service to the atmosphere and the food—was outstanding. A special thank you to our waitress, Summer, for her kindness and great service. We will definitely be back!
Dinner with Mrs V @ the Wood • Ash • Rye (W.A.R.) restaurant located within the Advenire, Autograph Collection Hotel in St George. We were greeted and seated within minutes by their friendly staff. W.A.R. has a beautiful open concept kitchen and spacious dining room with well appointed decor. Our server Evan was very friendly engaging and his menu suggestions were on point. We ordered the shareable sides of elote and loaded potatoes which paired perfectly with our 14 oz. NY strip steaks which were plated on a chimichurri and horseradish creme and were topped with a chili crunch. Both steaks were perfectly cooked to a medium rare temperature and were absolutely delicious! Executive Chef Jason Clark visited our table and it is extraordinarily obvious that he has an extraordinary passion for food and for people. He clearly loves what he does which translates into an amazing dining experience. Highly recommend!! Mark Voykin
